Scouting Report
Zyon Guiles is a 4-star Interior Offensive Line from Georgetown, SC (Carvers Bay) in the 2026 class. Ranked No. 155 nationally. Composite rating: 0.9381. Committed to University of South Carolina.
Physical Profile
Listed at 6-5, 305 lbs. Taller than 74% and heavier than 63% of 2026 Interior Offensive Line prospects in the SEC Scouts database (207 with a listed size).
Play Style
Guiles is a physical, run-first blocker who plays downhill. On down blocks and double teams he lands his punch first and drives through the defender instead of just walling him off. His best reps come as a puller and on combination blocks where he climbs to linebackers: he gets there with his balance and still has power at contact. In pass protection he relies more on strength than technique. He wins by anchoring and re-anchoring, and his kick-slide against speed is still a work in progress.
Strengths
- Power at the point of attack: 247Sports' Gabe Brooks calls him a 'powerful point-of-attack assailant with punch and strength.' His initial strike moves defenders off the ball in the base run game.
- Keeps his power on the move: the same evaluation notes that his power carries over when he pulls or climbs to the second level. That is uncommon for a lineman over 300 pounds and fits gap and pin-pull schemes.
- Production and honors: he anchored the line for a 12-1 Carvers Bay team that reached the third round of the Class A playoffs, and the team's top back ran for more than 2,000 yards. He was a two-time all-state pick, 2025 SCFCA 1A Lower State Player of the Year, a Mr. Football finalist and a Shrine Bowl starter.
- Head start and makeup: he enrolled early and went through 2026 spring practice. He also carries a 4.3 GPA and ranked in the top 10 of his class, which suggests he will learn the playbook quickly.
Areas to Improve
- Pass-protection balance and body control: 247Sports lists this as his main development area. He can over-set or lunge when he has to react to speed and counters in space, which is the biggest question about him staying at tackle in the SEC.
- Level of competition and technique: he dominated Class 1A competition largely on strength. He needs to improve hand placement, pad level and consistent footwork before SEC interior linemen stop losing to him just because he is stronger.
College Projection
Early enrollment lets him compete for backup snaps as a true freshman in 2026. He is one of four freshman linemen in a room that also includes five-star guard Darius Gray. The most realistic path is to develop at guard, with right tackle as an option, and redshirt or play a reserve role in year one using the four-game redshirt rule. He projects as a starter by 2027 and a possible multi-year starter by 2028, with value as a swing player at guard and tackle along the way. 247Sports projects him as a 'P4/high-major O-lineman who could become a multi-year starter with position flexibility.'
NFL Outlook
247Sports gives him a Day 3 NFL projection (rounds 4-7). His strength and ability to pull are NFL-caliber traits for a guard, and being able to play several positions adds to his draft value. Whether he rises above a Day 3 grade will depend on two things: cleaning up his pass-protection balance, and whether he can hold up at tackle or settles in as a guard with fewer positional options.
Best Fit
His best fit is a gap or duo run scheme that pulls guards and runs double teams into linebacker climbs, where his power and movement count the most. South Carolina fits that profile and gives him a chance to start near home. Staying in-state also matters in this case: his commitment was a key recruiting win for the Gamecocks over Clemson.
Player Comparison
Tuitt was a highly-rated 4-star defensive lineman at 6'6" 304 lbs who ranked in the top 150 nationally, showing similar elite size and recruiting pedigree. Like this prospect, he possessed exceptional athletic ability for his size that made him a game-changing presence along the defensive line with the versatility to play multiple positions.
