• American-football specifics: he has only been at it since July 2025, so his catch-to-kick operation time, handling of bad snaps, and consistency in a set alignment behind a protection shield are all still new to him. These must become automatic before he can be trusted in the fourth quarter of an SEC game.
• Directional and situational punting: power is his calling card, but he hasn't shown pooch, coffin-corner, or inside-the-20 placement with one foot. Ross's career 63 punts inside the 20 is the standard he is compared to, and turning distance into net yardage and placement is the main development need.
• Consistency over a full game: kickers who rely on power tend to vary in distance and hang time from punt to punt. Reported 5-second hang time needs to show up every time against SEC rush schemes, not just in a workout.

College Projection

He is the clear successor to Jackson Ross, who is a fifth-year redshirt senior in 2026. For 2026, expect a development year behind Ross, likely a redshirt or emergency backup role, competing with Josh Turbyville for the second-string spot. The realistic timeline is to compete for the starting job in spring 2027, with a chance to start for multiple seasons from 2027 on. ProKick punters tend to make big jumps in Year 2 once the operation is cleaned up. If his hang time carries over, he has the tools to reach All-SEC level and earn Ray Guy consideration as a starter.

Foley fits a program that plays complementary football and values field position, with an experienced special-teams coordinator and a veteran to learn behind for a year. Tennessee matches that almost exactly: Ross is a former ProKick product on the same path, and the staff already knows how to develop Australian punters. His power and hang time are best used with spread-coverage or shield-punt units that can get downfield under 5-second kicks. Programs that need a rollout or rugby-style two-footed punter right away would not suit him as well.
