Play Style

He plays like a classic power tackle: he wins with length and mass, anchors well against bull rushes, and has the size to move defenders off the ball in the run game. His long run as DePaul's left tackle shows he is comfortable in protection and dependable. His game is built on steadiness and size rather than twitchy athleticism. Coaches will spend much of his redshirt year refining his pass-set footwork and hand timing.

Strengths

• Experience: four years on varsity and three as the starting left tackle at a strong New Jersey non-public program. He has faced good competition every week and has played in multiple state-title runs, so he is more game-ready than most tackles in this ranking range.
• Blindside pass protection: he protected the quarterback's blind side for an offense that gained nearly 5,500 total yards as a junior in 2024. That shows he can hold up in pass sets over a full season, not just in highlight clips.
• College-ready size: at 6-6 and 315 he can take on bull rushes and power moves right away, so strength training at Virginia Tech can focus on technique and balance instead of adding weight.
• Makeup and leadership: he was a senior captain and a three-time all-state (NJSIAA) first-team selection. Programs recruiting tackles value that kind of reliability, and Franklin re-recruited him to a new school.

Areas to Improve

• Handling speed on the edge: he needs to get quicker and more efficient out of his stance and in his kick step to stay with fast, bendy ACC pass rushers. Tackles his size often struggle with good speed-to-power rushers and inside counter moves until their footwork is refined.
• Hand use and pad level: like most young linemen who won on size in high school, he needs to strike more accurately with his hands and keep his pads low in the run game. College defensive linemen will win leverage battles that high school opponents couldn't.
• Body composition: at 315 he has to become leaner and more flexible, not heavier. That will decide whether he stays at tackle or moves inside to guard.

College Projection

He is one of seven offensive linemen Virginia Tech signed in the 2026 class, and the Hokies are expected to redshirt their high school linemen. The likely path is a 2026 redshirt spent on strength and technique, a push for the backup tackle spot in 2027, and a chance to compete for a starting job in 2028-29. His size gives him a fallback at guard if his edge quickness doesn't reach ACC tackle level, so he projects as at least a multi-year contributor on the line.

NFL Outlook

He has long-term draft potential because of his size and experience, but he is a development prospect, not someone likely to leave early. If he becomes a multi-year starter at tackle at Virginia Tech, his size makes him a realistic Day 3 prospect as a right tackle or swing tackle. His ceiling depends on how well he handles speed rushers. If he ends up inside at guard, his NFL outlook depends more on his run blocking and strength than on his length.

Best Fit

A pro-style or gap and inside-zone run scheme that values size, power at the point of attack and multi-year development, which is what Virginia Tech is building under Franklin. He fits best at right tackle or strong-side tackle in a system that doesn't ask its tackles to block wide-open space every snap. A staff with a strong strength program and a patient redshirt-first approach should get the most out of him.
