Aamaury Fountain is a 4-star Cornerback from Warner Robins, GA (Northside High School) in the 2027 class. Ranked No. 192 nationally, No. 28 at CB, No. 37 in GA). Composite rating: 0.9259. Committed to University of Florida.

Physical Profile

Listed at 6-1, 175 lbs. Taller than 47% and heavier than 31% of 2027 Cornerback prospects in the SEC Scouts database (32 with a listed size).

Play Style

An outside corner who uses his length and reads the play like a converted quarterback. He is most effective when he can see the quarterback and break on the ball, in off-man and in Cover 3 or quarters where he is responsible for a deep third or the outside receiver. His interceptions come from reading the quarterback's eyes and the route stem rather than just reacting late. His long arms let him play through the receiver's hands at the catch point. Like most position converts, his technique in tight man coverage and in run support lags behind his instincts and ball skills.

Strengths

  • Length and size for the position: a 6-3 outside corner with a long frame can squeeze routes to the sideline and play press without giving up much to tall receivers
  • Ball skills carried over from quarterback: in his first year at corner in 2025 he had 4 interceptions, double-digit pass breakups, 32 tackles, 1 TFL and 1 forced fumble, which points to strong instincts for reading routes and tracking the ball
  • Quarterback background: years of reading coverages from the other side of the ball show up in how he anticipates concepts and breaks on throws, which is unusual for a first-year corner
  • Recruiting pull and upward trend: he rose quickly after the 2025 season, drew about 35 offers including Georgia and Alabama, and major-program staffs kept pushing to flip him from South Carolina

Areas to Improve

  • Technique at the position: with one season at corner, his footwork in press, patience at the line, hip turn out of backpedal and staying on the hip in trail position are all still being built, and he can be beaten by sharp route runners on double moves
  • Strength and play strength: he needs to add weight to win at the line in press, get off blocks against perimeter screens and tackle reliably in run support in the SEC
  • Consistency over a larger sample: he has one year of defensive film, so the 2026 senior season matters for showing that the interceptions reflect repeatable coverage skill rather than raw athletic plays

College Projection

Projects as a boundary or field corner in Florida's secondary under Jon Sumrall and DB coach Brandon Harris, a staff that recruited him hard. A realistic path is special teams and rotational snaps as a true freshman in 2027, with a redshirt possible depending on depth. Year 2 is when he could compete for a starting spot, after about a year in a college strength program. If the weight gain and press technique come together, he has the tools to become a multi-year starter at outside corner by 2028-29.

NFL Outlook

His combination of 6-3 length, ball skills and a short history at the position is the profile NFL teams draft on traits. If he adds strength and develops his man-coverage technique in college, he fits the mold of a Day 2 pick (rounds 2-3), and he could rise higher with strong testing numbers. The main risk is development: he is still early at the position, so his ceiling depends on how fast the technique arrives.

Best Fit

An SEC or Power 4 defense that plays a lot of press-bail, Cover 3 and quarters, where long outside corners can use their length at the line and read the quarterback from off coverage. It should have a proven DB coach and an established strength program that can add weight to his frame. Florida under Sumrall is a good fit because the staff made him a priority and has a clear plan for developing him at outside corner.
