Kevin Oatis

Physical Profile

Listed at 6-1, 285 lbs. Taller than 7% and heavier than 59% of 2025 Defensive Line prospects in the SEC Scouts database (144 with a listed size).

Play Style

Based on his Mississippi roots and Arkansas fit, likely plays a physical, fundamentally sound style typical of SEC defensive linemen. His 4-star rating suggests he has the technical skills and motor to be productive, though his limited recruitment indicates he may need to prove his ability against higher-level competition.

Strengths

• Strong composite rating of 0.9019 indicates legitimate Power 5 talent with room for development
• Mississippi high school football provides solid foundational competition and coaching
• Early commitment to Arkansas suggests strong relationship building and program fit

Areas to Improve

• Limited national exposure evident from sparse offer sheet despite 4-star rating
• Needs to demonstrate consistency against elite competition to validate ranking

College Projection

Projects as a developmental prospect who could contribute by year 2-3 at Arkansas. His composite rating suggests he has the talent to eventually earn playing time in the SEC, but may need a redshirt year to adjust to the speed and strength of college football.

NFL Outlook

Too early to project NFL potential given limited exposure and developmental nature of his recruitment profile

Best Fit

Programs like Arkansas that emphasize player development and have patience with regional prospects. SEC schools that prioritize fundamentals and physical development over immediate impact would maximize his potential.
