Ah'mari Stevens is a 4-star Wide Receiver from Hollywood, FL (Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory Sc) in the 2027 class. Ranked No. 413 nationally, No. 45 at WR. Composite rating: 0.8933. Committed to Louisiana State University.

Physical Profile

Listed at 5-10, 165 lbs. Taller than 6% and heavier than 3% of 2027 Wide Receiver prospects in the SEC Scouts database (36 with a listed size).

Play Style

Stevens plays like a speed receiver who is also a good route runner. He gets off the line quickly and is willing to beat press with his hands and feet rather than avoid it. He creates space at the top of his stems and gets upfield fast after the catch. Once he has the ball he runs with a running back's aggression and will break arm tackles instead of just heading out of bounds. His best work comes on quick game, slants, deep overs and vertical routes where his track speed stretches safeties. He is at his best in space and less effective in crowded or physical situations.

Strengths

  • Wins against press: in Chaminade-Madonna's 2026 spring game he beat press-man coverage at the line, broke two tackles and scored, which is unusual for a receiver his weight
  • Separates as a route runner: evaluators at the spring game said he consistently got open on his routes, the trait that keeps smaller receivers on the field in college
  • Dangerous after the catch: he runs like a ball carrier once he has it, which fits the screens, jet motion and catch-and-run concepts Kiffin's offense relies on
  • Proven against top competition: he took varsity snaps at St. Thomas Aquinas and Chaminade-Madonna, two of South Florida's best programs, and drew offers from Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State and Auburn

Areas to Improve

  • Add strength and mass: at about 160 pounds he needs to get to 175-180 to handle SEC press corners, block on the perimeter and hold up over a season
  • Production dropped as a junior: he went from 44 catches, 550 yards and 8 TDs as a sophomore at St. Thomas Aquinas to 23 catches, 312 yards and 1 TD in nine games after transferring to Chaminade-Madonna. His senior year needs to show volume and red-zone production that match his ranking
  • Contested catches and play strength: at his size he needs to show he can finish through contact and win 50/50 balls, or coaches will limit him to schemed touches

College Projection

A redshirt or rotational freshman year is most likely. He would add weight in LSU's strength program and play special teams, possibly as a returner given his speed and ability after the catch. By year two he projects as a rotating slot or 'Z' receiver in Kiffin's offense, and he could start by year three if the weight gain comes without losing speed. He holds the WR1 spot in LSU's 2027 class, so the staff will likely give him an early chance to compete.

NFL Outlook

He has day-two to day-three potential as a slot or speed receiver if he reaches about 175-180 pounds and turns his route running and speed into steady SEC production. The NFL values receivers under 180 pounds who separate and create yards after the catch when they run in the 4.3s, and his track background suggests he can. The risk is that he stays too light to handle press and physical play, which would limit him to a return and gadget role.

Best Fit

An up-tempo spread or RPO offense that uses a lot of motion and moves receivers around to get them the ball in space: jet sweeps, screens, crossers and choice routes from the slot. LSU under Lane Kiffin fits that closely. He also needs a strong strength and nutrition program to add mass, and a receivers coach (George McDonald, who led his recruitment) who can refine his release package. A big-bodied, boundary-heavy pro-style offense would not suit him.
