Scouting Report
Raheem Floyd is a 4-star Cornerback from East Saint Louis, IL (East St. Louis High School) in the 2027 class. Ranked No. 122 nationally, No. 11 at CB. Composite rating: 0.9467. Committed to University of Florida.
Physical Profile
Listed at 6-1, 170 lbs. Taller than 47% and heavier than 16% of 2027 Cornerback prospects in the SEC Scouts database (32 with a listed size).
Play Style
Floyd is an aggressive, hands-on corner who likes to challenge receivers at the line. In press he gets a jam in with his length and tries to push the receiver off his route stem. In off-man he reads the quarterback, drives on the throw and gets his head around to play the ball. He is physical and competitive, with visible fire on film and in camp settings, and he tackles in run support instead of waiting for help. His game fits a coverage-heavy scheme where the corners are trusted on an island more than a soft zone system.
Strengths
- Length and hand use in press: he gets his hands on receivers at the line and disrupts route timing instead of just mirroring, which is how SEC coaches want a boundary corner to play
- Man-coverage range: he has real experience in both press-man and off-man at a program that plays top competition. Proven production against elite receivers helped him win Defensive MVP at The Opening Finals, where he broke up multiple passes
- Ball skills at the catch point: he turns his head on time and plays through the receiver's hands rather than panicking when the ball arrives
- Willing tackler: 55 tackles in 11 games as a junior shows he comes downhill in run support and on screens rather than avoiding contact, which suits a boundary role
Areas to Improve
- Adding strength and weight: at 175 pounds he can be moved off his spot by physical receivers and blockers. He needs 10-15 pounds of functional mass to hold up in press and as a force player on the edge
- Turning breakups into turnovers: one interception in his junior season is low for his coverage ability. He needs to finish more of the plays he gets his hands on
- Transition discipline: long corners who are aggressive at the line can be exposed on double moves and sharp breaks. Cleaner hip turns and patience in off-man will decide how quickly he earns college snaps
College Projection
He likely spends Year 1 at Florida adding weight, playing special teams and rotating into dime and sub-package snaps. His coverage traits could force the issue earlier if the depth chart is thin. He projects as a boundary corner who could compete for a starting job in Year 2 and be a multi-year SEC starter from Years 2-4. The timeline depends mostly on how quickly his frame fills out.
NFL Outlook
The tools match what NFL teams screen for at outside corner: just over 6-0, near-32-inch arms, verified speed and press-man experience. If he gets to about 190 pounds, keeps his speed and turns breakups into interceptions as an SEC starter, he projects as a Day 2 candidate with Day 1 upside if his testing stands out. If the added strength doesn't come, the likelier outcome is a Day 3 press corner and special-teams player.
Best Fit
A press-heavy, man-coverage defense that plays corners on the boundary and trusts them in Cover 1, Cover 0 and pattern-match Cover 3 structures. He also needs a strong strength program and patience through a redshirt-style development year. Florida's plan to rebuild its secondary with long, physical 2027 corners fits his profile well.
