Scouting Report
Brylan Oduor is a 4-star Wide Receiver from Murfreesboro, TN (Riverdale High School) in the 2027 class. Ranked No. 434 nationally, No. 68 at WR. Composite rating: 0.8911. Committed to Auburn University.
Physical Profile
Listed at 6-2, 205 lbs. Taller than 67% and heavier than 92% of 2027 Wide Receiver prospects in the SEC Scouts database (36 with a listed size).
Play Style
Based on his production and frame, he plays like a boundary X-receiver who wins vertically and at the catch point. His 20-yard average and 8 touchdowns on 24 catches point to downfield shots, go-balls and red-zone targets more than short, high-volume work underneath. Going from Blackman to a Riverdale offense that throws a lot should give him more targets and let him show a fuller route tree as a senior.
Strengths
- Big-play production: as a junior at Blackman he caught 24 passes for 484 yards and 8 touchdowns. That's about 20 yards per catch and a touchdown on one of every three receptions, so he turns a small number of targets into explosive, scoring plays.
- Size at the catch point: his 6-2/6-3, ~200 lb frame gives him a large catch radius and the body to box out on back-shoulder throws, 50-50 balls and fades in the red zone. That's how his high touchdown rate happens.
- Recruited by Power Four programs: offers from Indiana, Ole Miss and Miami, plus his A-Day visit before committing to Auburn, show that several P4 staffs saw him as a boundary receiver. Several outlets called his transfer to Riverdale a major addition to a pass-heavy offense.
Areas to Improve
- Volume and consistency: 24 catches is a small junior-year sample. His senior year at Riverdale is where he needs to show he can be the main target and handle 50+ catches while defenses focus on him. Senior stats had not been published as of the end of September 2026.
- Separation without relying on size: with an 11.0-range 100m, he'll need sharper releases against press, better tempo in his stems and cleaner breaks on intermediate routes (digs, comebacks, curls). SEC corners his size won't let him win just by going over the top.
College Projection
He should be a boundary receiver in Auburn's rotation. With his size he can contribute early in red-zone and special-teams packages, but a redshirt or limited-snap freshman season in 2027 is the likely path while he builds route detail and play strength against SEC defensive backs. A realistic timeline is rotational snaps in year two and a chance to start at X by year two or three, depending on how much his release and separation improve.
NFL Outlook
He's on the border between high 3-star and low 4-star, so his NFL outlook depends on development rather than current traits. Size-and-catch-radius boundary receivers who produce in the SEC get Day 3 draft interest. If he gains some top-end speed and becomes a steady separator, a mid-round path is possible. Right now he projects as a college contributor with pro upside, not a clear draft prospect.
Best Fit
A spread or pro-spread offense that puts him on the boundary, takes regular vertical and back-shoulder shots, and uses him as a red-zone target. That's what Golesh's attacking Auburn offense does. He's a weaker fit for schemes that ask receivers mainly to create yards after the catch on quick screens and horizontal routes.
