Khamoni Williams is a 3-star Running Back from Memphis, TN (Southwind High School) in the 2027 class. Ranked No. 554 nationally, No. 77 at RB. Composite rating: 0.8844. Committed to Auburn University.

Physical Profile

Listed at 5-11, 205 lbs. Taller than 54% and heavier than 79% of 2027 Running Back prospects in the SEC Scouts database (24 with a listed size).

Play Style

Williams is a downhill, one-cut runner who plays with a defender's mentality. He gets north quickly, lowers his pads near the second level and leans on his low center of gravity to break tackles. His per-carry averages point to explosive runs once he clears the line, not a dancer who loses yards hunting for the perfect lane. He is a real outlet in the passing game, catching the ball away from his body and gaining yards after the catch. His two-way experience shows in how willingly he takes on blitzers and finishes runs.

Strengths

  • Very efficient runner: 1,151 yards and 13 TDs on 125 carries as a sophomore (9.2 per carry), then 892 yards and 7 TDs on 84 carries as a junior (10.6 per carry). That is chunk-play production on a limited workload, not volume stats.
  • Real receiving value: 28 catches for 405 yards and 5 TDs over 2024-25 (14.5 yards per catch). He projects as a three-down back who can run choice routes and turn screens upfield, not a two-down grinder.
  • Physical, contact-seeking style: 10 sacks and 15 tackles for loss on defense show the strength and aggression to hold up in pass protection and run through arm tackles at the next level.
  • Proven against better competition: he moved from Class 2A Memphis Business Academy, where he made All-Metro third team in 2025 and led multiple playoff runs, to Southwind's bigger program. Early senior numbers (461 rushing yards, 8 total TDs in a partial season) show his production held up after the move.

Areas to Improve

  • Long speed: there are no verified timed numbers, and his big runs came against small-school defenses. At the SEC level he has to show he can finish runs against defensive backs with 4.4 speed rather than get caught from behind.
  • Workload and polish: he never topped about 125 carries in a season, so his durability as a 15-20-touch back is unproven. Reading zone-scheme cuts (pressing the hole and cutting off the frontside block) and pass-protection technique will need college coaching, since much of his production came on talent alone.

College Projection

Expect a developmental true freshman year in Auburn's RB room: special teams and limited situational carries. He should become a rotation back by year two. Golesh's tempo, spread-to-run offense, which he ran at South Florida, uses a committee of backs and values ones who can catch and protect, which favors Williams' complete skill set. His ceiling is a starter or 1B back by years three and four. If his speed tests at the SEC level, his yards-per-carry profile suggests he could be a high-efficiency starter.

Best Fit

Williams fits best in a spread, inside/outside zone or gap-scheme offense that uses a running-back committee and throws to its backs, which is exactly what Golesh's Auburn offense does. Programs that need a physical early-down runner who can stay on the field for third downs because of his pass protection and hands would get the most out of him. He is less suited to a system that relies on one bell-cow back for 25-plus carries.
