Scouting Report
Willie Burnett III is a 4-star prospect from Springfield, VA (Gillion Basketball Academy) in the 2026 class. Ranked No. 83 nationally. Composite rating: 0.9676. Committed to Mississippi State University.
Physical Profile
Listed at 6-4, 175 lbs.
Play Style
Not applicable. He does not play football, so there is no football film to evaluate.
Strengths
- No football evaluation is possible: he has no football position, film, camp results, or offers on record
- His real profile is basketball: a consensus four-star guard (Rivals Composite #93 overall) who finished high school at Gillion Academy under coach Kenny Gillion
- He chose Mississippi State basketball after an official visit, over Oklahoma State, Florida State and Western Kentucky, and is on the Bulldogs' 2026-27 men's basketball roster
Areas to Improve
- Data fix needed: remove this record from the football recruit pool or reclassify it to basketball. The generator is not filtering by sport, which is the same leak seen with Bo Ogden, Austin Goosby, Tarris Bouie and Gage Mayfield
- Check other Position=Unknown records that have high composites, zero offers, or a 'Basketball Academy' school name for the same cross-sport mix-up
College Projection
No football projection. He is enrolled as a Mississippi State men's basketball signee for 2026-27 and has no football role.
Best Fit
Not applicable to football. He has already committed and signed with Mississippi State basketball.
