LEAD STORY: Vols Add Elite Scorer from Transfer Portal
The Tennessee Volunteers landed their first major piece from the transfer portal Wednesday, securing a commitment from former Belmont guard Tyler Lundblade. A 6-foot-5 sharpshooter, Lundblade provides an immediate offensive boost for a Tennessee squad looking to replace key scorers. This past season, he was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year.
Lundblade was one of the most efficient shooters in the nation during his two seasons with the Belmont Bruins. In the 2025-26 season, he averaged 15.6 points per game while shooting an impressive 43% from three-point range and a nation-leading 93.4% from the free-throw line. His scoring ability is highlighted by his 219 made three-pointers over the last two seasons, making him one of the most coveted shooters available in the portal.
The Dallas, Texas native, who began his career at SMU before a stop at TCU, will use his final season of eligibility in Knoxville. His addition is crucial for the Volunteers as they look to rebuild their backcourt for the upcoming season.
