Ole Miss Forward Corey Chest Hits Transfer Portal
Ole Miss sophomore forward Corey Chest intends to enter the NCAA transfer portal, marking the second departure from the Rebels' basketball roster this offseason. The 6-foot-8 New Orleans native will be seeking his third school in as many years after spending his freshman season at LSU.
Chest's production saw a notable decline in his lone season in Oxford. After averaging 6.1 points and 6.6 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 campaign with LSU, his numbers dropped to 2.6 points and 3.8 rebounds per game with Ole Miss this past season. He started in just four contests for the Rebels after cracking the starting five 19 times at LSU. One area of struggle was the free-throw line, where he shot under 50 percent for the season.
Chest joins guard Eduardo Klafke as the two Ole Miss players who have announced their intentions to transfer. The forward's departure opens up another scholarship for an Ole Miss team looking to reshape its roster ahead of the 2026-27 season.
