FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (03/20/2026) — The Arkansas Razorbacks unleashed a relentless offensive attack on Friday, securing a decisive 10-2 victory over the UConn Huskies at Bogle Park.
Powered by a four-run first inning and a multi-hit performance from four different players, Arkansas controlled the contest from the start, ending the game in six innings via the run rule.
How It Happened
The Razorbacks left no doubt about their intentions, erupting for four runs in the bottom of the first. Reagan Johnson led off with a hit and promptly scored on an RBI double down the right-field line from Brinli Bain. Tianna Bell followed with an RBI single through the left side to score Bain, quickly making it 2-0. Kennedy Miller capped the explosive frame with a two-RBI single up the middle, giving Arkansas a commanding 4-0 advantage before UConn could record three outs.
UConn found its way onto the scoreboard in the top of the fourth when first baseman Kaitlyn Kibling launched a solo home run to right-center, cutting the deficit to 4-1. The momentum was short-lived, however, as Arkansas immediately answered in the bottom of the inning. Bell delivered again, singling through the left side to bring Johnson home for her second run of the game and extending the lead to 5-1.
The Huskies showed life again in the sixth. Ava Calciano singled and later scored on an RBI single from Savannah Ring, narrowing the score to 5-2. But Arkansas slammed the door with another overwhelming offensive display in the bottom of the sixth. Bell drove in two more runs with a single to right-center, Wyckoff added an RBI single, and Rijo sealed the victory with a two-RBI double to right-center, enacting the run rule at 10-2.
Turning Point
The game was decided in the bottom of the first inning. Arkansas's four-run outburst set a tone that UConn could not overcome. By stringing together timely hits from Bain, Bell, and Miller, the Razorbacks established immediate control and forced the Huskies to play from a significant deficit for the entire game. The early offensive pressure proved insurmountable.
Star of the Game
Tianna Bell was the offensive catalyst for the Razorbacks. The outfielder finished the day 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in a game-high four runs and scoring once. Her RBI singles in the first and fourth innings stifled any early UConn hopes, and her two-RBI single in the sixth inning was a key part of the game-ending rally.
Arkansas pitcher Payton Burnham also delivered a strong performance in the circle. Burnham went the full 6.0 innings, allowing just three hits and two earned runs while striking out five batters to earn the victory.
