SEC Evening Report: LSU Women Dominate OU in SEC Tournament Quarterfinals

LSU Delivers Statement Win Over Oklahoma in SEC Quarterfinals

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The No. 6 LSU women's basketball team put on an offensive clinic Friday, dismantling seventh-ranked Oklahoma 112-78 in the quarterfinals of the Southeastern Conference Tournament. The dominant performance, their fifth consecutive victory, sends the Tigers to a highly anticipated semifinal matchup. The 112 points scored by LSU represent the second-highest point total in the history of the SEC Tournament.

Freshman guard MiLaysia Fulwiley led the offensive outburst with 22 points and eight assists, showcasing her dynamic playmaking ability. Flau'jae Johnson was a force, particularly in the second half where she scored 16 of her 21 points. LSU's offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting 53% from the field and an impressive 13 of 24 from three-point range. The Tigers' defense was equally disruptive, forcing 22 turnovers from the Sooners and holding them to just 36% shooting from the floor.

LSU asserted control from the outset, taking a 28-19 lead after the first quarter and never looking back. The victory sets up a monumental clash in the semifinals, where LSU will face the tournament's top seed and three-time defending champion, No. 3 South Carolina. Oklahoma, who had a seven-game winning streak snapped, was led by Aaliyah Chavez with 20 points.
